Providence Health & Services Victim Advocate in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Victim Advocate (Per Diem, Variable) to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.
This position is within the Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse, which is the Snohomish County community sexual assault program and a crime victim service center. The Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse provides medical, advocacy, and therapy services for victims of all ages who have experienced physical or sexual violence.
This position will fill a minimum of 10, eight hour, on-call shifts per month.
The Victim Advocate will provide advocacy, support, information and referrals for adult and child victims and their families both over the phone and in-person at five emergency departments in the county. Services must be appropriate to patients in various age groups, cultural backgrounds, and disabilities and performed in a manner which promotes and supports the Core Values of the Sisters of Providence.
In this position you will:
Support victims of violence by answering a 24 hour hotline as required by the agency protocol and ensuring calls are being responded to in a timely manner.
Respond to area emergency departments, providing victims and families with age appropriate advocacy, crisis intervention, emotional support, information, and resources.
Work collaboratively with Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse medical staff by providing client-focused, trauma informed medical advocacy during forensic medical exams.
Provide client follow up as needed.
Complete advocacy paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Contact supervisor to notify of any changes in availability or scheduling in a timely manner, consults with supervisor on difficult or unusual cases, attends regular meetings as required by procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of all records and medical center information at all times.
Work with sexual assault survivors under the Prison Rape Elimination Act, as needed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid Washington State Driver's License
Sufficient education to read and understand instructions
Core advocate training program (Will be provided)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bilingual Spanish Speaker
