The Support Services Tech position serves and supports several departments throughout PRMCE in a utility support services role and performs various job duties in order to maintain efficient operation. The position will be responsible to meet various job requirements within several different job duties and support areas in order to ensure safe and effective functioning and to promote a safe work environment. Caregivers in this role must be flexible and willing to work as directed, be responsible for assignments and ensure the necessary work is completed in accordance with departmental standards.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities on a rotating basis. TRAINING IS PROVIDED:
Delivery and transportation of supplies, including everyday equipment, specialty equipment, patient care supplies, other products from the warehouse, linens, food, equipment for food services and environmental services supplies. Also safely moves a variety of minor medical equipment.
Fills requests of supplies to units and performs restocking of supplies in warehouse and on units. Checks and maintains inventory of supplies in distribution, linen, food services and environmental services. Maintains storage areas for supplies and equipment PAR locations.
Folding and storage of linen in designated areas. Dispensing of linen according to proper procedure and par-levels set by usage history. Dispenses also based on user request through regular procedures and urgent telephone requests. Empties soiled linen according to procedure.
Assists and provides cleaning and sanitizing duties in several departments including food services and dish room, environmental services, distribution and others areas as assigned. This includes but is not limited to the cleaning of specialty equipment and completing sanitation tasks. Custodial/housekeeping duties will include refurbishing assigned facilities, spot cleaning, curtain hanging, trash gathering, vacuuming, dust mopping and mopping. Additional general cleaning and sanitation tasks. May also provide daily and discharge cleaning.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or GED or equivalent education/experience
Food Handlers Permit
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training is provided
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Direct customer service experience.
Previous healthcare experience.
Two (2) years hospital experience in support services role.
