The Pharmacy Technician will perform functions associated with the preparation, issuance and recording of unit dose, IV admixtures, floor stock, outpatient prescriptions and other hospital pharmacy processing which are permitted by state regulations under the immediate supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Performs routine functions assisting the pharmacist in collecting and verifying patient medication histories.
In this position you will:
Demonstrate age specific patient care considerations for the population served.
Demonstrate application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PRMCE age specific care competency assessment tool.
Fill automated medication dispensing machines on patient care units.
Inventory are accurately maintained on a daily basis or as required.
Accurately pull medication(s) for dispensing.
Respond to patient and provider inquiries.
Perform in person and telephone reception duties in a professional manner consistent with the core values of the organization.
Triage questions and consults appropriately to the Pharmacist.
Accurately order medications and supplies in a cost-effective manner according to par levels/usage.
Medication related documents are timely and accurate.
Routinely and accurately check stock for expired medications.
Ensure monthly inspections are completed in a timely manner.
Order transcription and set up of IV medications.
Aseptically prepare medications accurately per label instructions and department guidelines.
Ensure that work is thoroughly checked by pharmacist.
Certification of technique and methods of handling hazardous chemicals are kept as appropriate.
Strictly follow all pharmacy policies regarding chemotherapy disposal/handling.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Registered with WA State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician

- Third party billing or reimbursement
