Providence is calling a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) (0.8 FTE, Evenings) to work in Emergency Services at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.
Responsible for all clerical and receptionist functions for the unit.
In this position you will:
Demonstrates age specific patient care considerations for the population served.
Demonstrates application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool.
Performs clerical duties.
Admits, discharges and transfers patients; assembles charts; copies and faxes information.
Distributes mail; answers phone; orders forms and supplies; monitors inventory; assembles admit and other patient packets; schedules appointments.
Works cooperatively with unit and medical center employees.
Attends and participates in change of shift report, answers phone using script, communicates in a clear courteous, friendly manner; assists co-workers with duties.
Maintains patient charts.
Updates departmental files, transcription and entry of orders, appropriately maintains progress reports, lab reports, history and physical reports, and all departmental files to ensuring timely availability of information to other staff members.
Completes assigned unit tasks and departmental communications.
Unit and regulatory task sheets routinely complete, appropriately handles incoming and outgoing communication including but not limited to phone calls, facsimiles, mail, photocopies, staff meeting agendas and minutes.
Assist co-workers on the unit and participate as an active member of the patient care team.
Record and report information and concerns to appropriate staff.
Accepts responsibility for job expectation changes, unit information and competencies.
Maintains and improve competencies, education, training, attending staff meetings, seminars, in-services to ensure the development and implementation and understanding of departmental policies, procedures and performance improvement processes.
Successfully complete annual skills fair requirements.
Follows hospital guidelines for safety.
Utilizing safety and lifting equipment policies and procedures to prevent work related injuries
Required qualification for this position include:
- American Heart Association Healthcare provider CPR recommended
