Providence Health & Services HUC / CNA - Labor and Delivery Triage/Postpartum *$2,500 Sign-on Bonus* in Everett, Washington

This position offers up to a $2,500 bonus paid to newly hired (not working for Providence or one of our affiliates) CNAs with at least one year of experience.
$1,250 will paid upon hire, and the balance after 12 months of continuous employment.
Providence is calling a Health Unit Coordinator/CNA (0.9 FTE, Day Shift) to Labor & Delivery Triage at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, Washington.
The Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for clerical and receptionist functions for the unit and, when assigned and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides assistance in the safe and effective care of patients in a variety of age groups which is consistent with the provisions of Chapter 246-841 WAC.
In this position you will:
Demonstrates age specific patient care considerations for the population served.
Demonstrates application of knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, psychosocial, patient and family education areas based on PEMC age specific care competency assessment tool.
Provides effective patient care
Takes and records vital signs, height, weight, food and fluid intake and output; recognizes and reports abnormal signs and symptoms; maintains safe environment for patients
Provides personal care to assigned patients
Bathes, dresses, and feeds patients; responds to call lights; assists with communication and reports patients’ concerns; orients to rooms and unit routine.
Performs computer order management.
Orders labs, x-ray, and other diagnostic procedures; discharges patients; enters charges
Performs clerical duties
Admits, discharges and transfers patients; assembles charts; copies and faxes information; distributes mail; answers phone; orders forms and supplies; monitors inventory; assembles admit and other patient packets; schedules appointments.
Works cooperatively with unit and medical center employees.
Attends and participates in change of shift report; answers phone using script; communicates in a clear, courteous, friendly manner; assists co-workers with duties; participates in staff meetings and training
Completes Annual Skill Lab for unit.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing Assistant Certification in the State of Washington.
Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within the first 2 weeks of hire.
Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Prior experience as a Unit Coordinator or NAC in an acute care setting.
