Providence Hospice Grief Counselor - Pediatrics Snohomish - *$5,000 Sign-On Bonus* in Everett, Washington

Providence is calling a Grief Support Counselor (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to the Spiritual Care Snohomish at Providence Hospice & Home Care of Snohomish County in Everett, Washington.

This position provides grief intervention and counseling to families. Facilitates support group and assists in programs (such as Camp Erin) as assigned.

$5,000 Sign-on Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.

In this position you will:

  • Provide individual and family grief support and counseling

  • Co-facilitates the bereavement program’s support groups as needed

  • Responsible for the bereavement program components and training.

  • Participates in community education to promote understanding of grief and issues of bereavement

  • Establishes and promotes positive working relationships both within the team, agency and organization

  • Participates in relevant education activities to improve job knowledge and to promote professional growth

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in social work or counseling from an accredited school or equivalent education/experience

  • Current MSW/LCSW license in the State of Washington or related field license “Counselor, LMFT, LMHC,” or licensure in process

  • Current Washington State driver’s license and have access to daily use of an insured reliable vehicle or an alternate ability to travel to sites as required.

  • Valid Provider CPR

  • Health care and/or pediatric services setting

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Five (5) years experience in Hospice

  • Education and/or experience in counseling, including basic psychological, social and spiritual needs of the bereave persons and risk assessment when appropriate

Providence Hospice and Home Care provides quality, timely, comprehensive medical care in the homes of patients in Snohomish County in Washington State, including Camano Island. The wide-ranging care we provide includes the service of physicians, registered nurses, CWCN registered nurse wound care specialists, medical social workers, rehabilitation therapists, home health aides, chaplains and volunteers.

Our Inpatient Hospice Care Center provides a unique alternative to traditional home-based care for hospice patients who need symptom management which cannot be provided in the home. Located at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, the center serves patients in the hospital and offers the community a complete continuum of hospice care.

About the Team

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses. Our core competencies include restorative care, longitudinal care and care through the end of life.
