In this position you will:
Provides Grief Support Services to hospice patients, families, and the community.
Be conducting bereavement assessments, providing anticipatory and bereavement counseling to individuals and groups, and providing education and training in the field of loss and grief.
Maintain positive, collaborative, and constructive interpersonal relationships; understands and practices the principles of effective teamwork.
Effectively work with individuals and families at end of life and through the bereavement process while maintaining professional boundaries and personal self-care strategies for dealing with stress.
Coordinate the day-to-day provision of bereavement services for hospice and community clients in association with the Grief Support Services Manager & the Grief Support Services Assistant.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master’s Degree in social work or counseling from an accredited school
Current Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Current MSW, MFT or MHC license in the State of WA or related field license if applicable
Current Washington State driver’s license and automobile insurance
Experience in a healthcare and/or pediatric services setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
3 years post master’s work experience in a health care and/or aging services setting
Education and/or experience in counseling, including basic psychological, social and spiritual needs of bereaved persons and development of risk assessment and plans of care
