Providence is calling a Grief Support Counselor ( Spiritual Care Snohomish , Day Shift , 0.8 FTE) to Providence Hospice & Home Care of Snohomish County in Everett, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Provides Grief Support Services to hospice patients, families, and the community.

  • Be conducting bereavement assessments, providing anticipatory and bereavement counseling to individuals and groups, and providing education and training in the field of loss and grief.

  • Maintain positive, collaborative, and constructive interpersonal relationships; understands and practices the principles of effective teamwork.

  • Effectively work with individuals and families at end of life and through the bereavement process while maintaining professional boundaries and personal self-care strategies for dealing with stress.

  • Coordinate the day-to-day provision of bereavement services for hospice and community clients in association with the Grief Support Services Manager & the Grief Support Services Assistant.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in social work or counseling from an accredited school -OR- equivalent educ/experience

  • Health care and/or pediatric services setting.

  • Current MSW/CSW license in the State of Washington or related field license “Counselor, LMFT, LMHC,” or licensure in process.

  • Current Washington State driver’s license and have access to daily use of an insured reliable vehicle or an alternate ability to travel to sites as required.

  • Valid Provider CPR.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 5 years of Hospice experience.

  • Education and/or experience in counseling, including basic psychological, social and spiritual needs of the bereave persons and risk assessment when appropriate.

The wide-ranging care we provide includes the service of physicians, registered nurses, CWCN registered nurse wound care specialists, medical social workers, rehabilitation therapists, home health aides, chaplains and volunteers.

Our Inpatient Hospice Care Center provides a unique alternative to traditional home-based care for hospice patients who need symptom management which cannot be provided in the home. Located at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, the center serves patients in the hospital and offers the community a complete continuum of hospice care.
