Coordinates and implements all aspects of quality, cost-effective, outcome oriented clinical nutrition care.
In this position you will:
Identify and assess patients at high nutrition risk.
Accurate assessment of nutrition care by following department standards of care, monitor enteral/arenteral intake, drug/nutrient interaction, recommend appropriate Medical Nutrition Therapy in medical record.
Facilitate behavior changes and improve nutritional status of the patient.
Assess patient education for multiple therapeutic nutrition interventions and update nutrition education materials.
Utilize Electronic Health Record and Room Service Programs.
Enter diet order, send messages, enter charges, and retrieve pertinent patient information in a timely and accurate manner.
Communicate effectively with all team members.
Assure verbal/written communication with physicians, discharge planners and outside agencies is complete, timely, accurate and easy to comprehend. Attend patient rounds as required.
Meet TJC standards for clinical nutrition.
Participates on hospital and department committees to implement and monitor clinical improvement protocols and review and revise nutrition care standards
Provide support and resources to Food and Nutrition department as needed.
Assist Food and Nutrition team members with menu planning, tray assessments, product evaluation, diet host in-services and national nutrition month.
Provide support and resources to physicians.
Provide recommendations for enteral/parenteral nutrition support and write orders for patients as needed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Internship for Dietitian
Must be registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics within 6 months of hire
WA State Certified Dietician- within 6 months of hire
Food Handler License
ADA internship with focus on clinical nutrition.
