The Providence Court Evaluator is responsible for providing forensic services to Providence patients who are going through the involuntary treatment act (ITA) process. Such services shall include, but are not limited to, evaluation of identified patients, preparing the proper declarations and petitions, attending all necessary court hearings related to the patients, entering in relevant necessary notes into the patients' medical records and processing court orders and other related paperwork.
In this position you will:
Works collaboratively with patients, families, court officials, county representatives, nurses, case managers, physicians, other practitioners, caregivers and community resources and agencies.
Communicates timely, relevant and accurate information to all parties involved with a patient’s care.
Facilitates the progression of ITA process in collaboration with the Treatment team per the patient’s treatment plan in order to achieve desired outcomes.
Integrates with the patient’s treatment plan and the mission of Providence through internal and external relationships pertaining to ITA detentions and related matters.
Advocates on behalf of patients and caregivers for service access or creation, and for the protection of the patient’s health, safety and rights.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited school or Ph.D. from an accredited school
2 years of xperience in the areas of acute mental healthcare in an inpatient, outpatient or legal setting
One of the following is required:
Licensed Social Work Independent Clinical (LSWIC) - compliance with the NASW Code of Ethics is required
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or - compliance with the AMHCA Code of Ethics is required
Licensed Psychologist - compliance with the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct is required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) – (BLS Provider) upon hire
