Prepares food on the grill or to order for retail/exhibition cooking. Maintains work area and equipment in order to meet sanitation and safety standards and levels for food and supply stock.
In this position you wil;:
Prepares Food for retail & catering (as applicable):
Preparing hot or cold food items on the grill, in the fryer, individual burners (during exhibition cooking) and ovens.
Follow standardized recipes and portions for patient or non patient food.
Plan and organize preparation of food products identified by menus.
Modify recipes and make substitutions as needed assuring high quality food.
Assure food presentation and quality.
Effectively communicate utilization of products during operation with manager as needed.
Utilize different food handling techniques and knowledge during food preparation.
Participate in menu planning of weekly specials and provide feedback to retail manager.
Assure presentation is creative and fresh to assure highest customer satisfaction.
Assists Cook II position during meal preparation as assigned.
Complete inventory of supplies:
Assure HACCP sheets are completed per meal and food waste is tracked.
Utilize these documents to make adjustment to food production for the next cycle and as needed.
Complete daily sanitation tasks:
Assure all 24 points of food safety are followed during operation.
Communicate any observed unsafe practices in food or physical safety immediately to manager.
Participate in quality monitoring as assigned by manager.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Food handler permit.
Preferred qualification for this position include :
- Progressive experience in retail setting
