Providence Health & Services Certified Medical Assistant (Retail) - Walgreens ExpressCare, Lake Stevens in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling for a Retail Certified Medical Assistant (0.9 FTE, Day Shift) to the Providence Walgreen's Express Care Clinic in Lake Stevens, WA.
This is a 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week; Day Shift) and benefits eligible position.
Please Note: The working hours will be 8am - 8pm; three days per week (12 hour shifts), including the requirement of working occasional weekend and holiday shifts as required.*
The Retail Medical Assistant provides effective and efficient services to retail patients; works under the direction of a practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care within in retail clinics.
In this position you will:
Greet and check-in patients and visitors in a friendly, courteous manner in person and on the phone; direct flow of patients and calls
Perform screening function with patients to determine appropriate staff/departments to best meet patient needs and refer appropriately.
Oversee the processing of all clerical records and information for clinic patients including cashiering, encounter forms, patient charts, etc.
Obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem
Perform sight and hearing tests as indicated
Obtain specimens according to clinic policies and procedures.
Under supervision of practitioner or nurse supervisor, administer approved medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, topical, optic, ophthalmologic or inhaled routes
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of a certified medical assistant program
Valid Medical Assistant Certification in the State of Washington
High School diploma or equivalent
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Minimum of 6 months of medical assisting experience in a clinic setting
Previous experience in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of insurance and insurance industry practices
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
Some college coursework
