Providence Health & Services Care Management - Medical Assistant in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Care Management Medical Assistant (1.0 FTE, Day) to Providence Medical Group in Everett, WA.
This is a Full Time (Monday - Friday; Day Shift) and benefits eligible position.
The Care Management Medical Assistant role is an intermediate support position responsible for the administrative coordination of multiple aspects of care for those patients with chronic diseases within the Providence Physician Group (PPG). Working with clinical pharmacy specialists, pharmacy residents, physicians, ARNP’s, PA’s and medical assistants, the Care Management- Medical Assistant collaborates in an integrated model that focuses on the most effective utilization of the skills of each member of the healthcare team. Daily work includes facilitating patient screening (e.g., annual Carville and dilated retinal eye exams) and optimization of treatment (e.g., cardiovascular risk management) targeting outcomes for chronic diseases by ordering appropriate laboratory tests, following up on medications adjustments, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
In this position you will:
Ability to establish priorities, organize work, be detail oriented, and follow through, particularly due to potential risk issues if duties are not performed in a timely and accurate manner
Ability to identify and troubleshoot complex problems
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and general knowledge of health care environment and delivery systems
Requires proficiency in data processing skills, such as word processing and email
Logician, CareManager, Flowcast and Portal software experience preferred
Knowledge and experience in database management and spreadsheets preferred
Excellent typing skills (60 words/minute), computer keyboard, and mouse skills for expedited data processing
Ability to adapt work pace and thought process during urgent situations and under pressure.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Undergraduate health-related degree, Certified Medical Assistant, or equivalent work experience in a medical clinic (3-5 years in a related field)
Requires knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, disease registries, medical decision making
Requires excellent verbal communication, negotiation, motivational interviewing / coaching, and interpersonal skills
Current state registrations, license, or certification as appropriate to education
Work experience in a medical clinic (3-5 years in a related field)
